Fined for something I didn't do. PDF Print E-mail
Written by The Team

I received a recorded delivery letter from trafico in Murcia the other day. I was pretty certain that I hadn't gone through any speed traps, although I did get a speeding ticket a couple of months ago just near the ITV centre in Jumilla, a favourite spot for the Guardia.
Anyway, I opened the letter and the fine (Multa) was for 310 Euros. Now, I wasn't worried about the police anymore, I was worried about telling the missus, especially after just paying a fine for speeding.

Admittedly, I do go a bit over the limit but only on the long straight country roads and I never cut my stopping distance, that infuriates me when people get too close to me.

Ok, so I read the letter and it turns out I am being fined for not identifying myself to the police??? and the location of the crime was the road that trafico is on in Murcia!!!!

Well, I've never been to Murcia, especially on the day in question so now I've got the un-enviable task of trying to convince them that they've made a mistake and I really don't fancy my chances. I'll let you know once I've contacted them.
